‘INTROMISSÕES’ – Eduardo Nery

A Casa-Museu tem o prazer de anunciar a próxima exposição temporária de autoria do artista Eduardo Nery – ‘Intromissões’.

Será exposto um núcleo de . Pensada esta exposição em articulação estreita com a Casa-Museu, o artista escolheu imagens de ambientes e de peças do acervo nas quais interviu com fotomontagens emprestando-lhes um olhar contemporâneo.

O resultado – 32 fotografias a preto e branco, divididas tematicamente – estará exposto de 2ª feira a 6ªfeira das 13h às 17.30h e nos sábados das 10h às 17.30h, de 6 de Novembro de 2007 a 8 de Fevereiro de 2008.

Eduardo José Nery de Oliveira, cujo nome artístico é Eduardo Nery, nasceu em 1938, na Figueira da Foz. Nery foi o primeiro pintor em Portugal a aderir à “Op Art” em 1965, todavia sua arte passou também por fases figurativas, de interesse pelas artes plásticas bem como pela fotografia.

Eduardo Nery tem ainda registada uma vasta obra ligada à arte pública, em azulejo, tapeçaria, mosaico, vitral e desenho de calçada portuguesa, por se tratar de uma arte com maior visibilidade é por essa vertente da sua carreira de intervenção no espaço urbano, que se tem popularizado.

The Fundação Medeiros e Almeida House-Museum in Lisbon, inaugurates, next November 6th a temporary exhibition of contemporary photography.
It is about an unique symbiosis between a contemporary vision and the excellence of the pieces of the House-Museum’s collection and ambiance images, revealed in 32 black and white photographs, manipulated by the Portugueses artist Eduardo Nery.

(…) “In consequence, both the visit to a sumptuous palace, like the one that houses the Medeiros e Almeida Foundation, with its treasures from the four corners of the world, on the one hand, and Eduardo Nery’s matchless, sophisticated and insightful works of art, on the other, present a unique opportunity for artistic perception, allowing the contemporary public a glimpse of what they can no longer know, and much less enjoy, reduced as they are to the drab, trashy quality of the average life and home, and to the dregs daily served them by the mass media”…

(…) “Nery’s photographs are like beautiful souvenirs from past ages, critical premonitions for the present time, and pictures of the future, perhaps of the better way Man could, and should, live. There is a profit here for both parts concerned. The preserved past of an elitist lifestyle, like the one of the Medeiros e Almeida Palace, which, without new visitors, empty of real persons who act and feel, could easily crystallise into the dust and mould of a dead memory, but now, however, finds itself revived, shining through Eduardo Nery’s visions, which illuminate the mind, opening it to exciting perspectives, rich in interconnections”.
